Explore the famous places of Kecskemét with your animated characters, rediscover the old church towers and cobblestones. Clay figures, paper cut-outs, puppets, matches and even Lego bricks will be brought to life in a paper set designed during the programme, made of old photos of Kecskemét to serve as a background. Perhaps there will be buildings you don’t know, but your parents still remember them. Or you might discover a detail that no one has noticed before, but is still out there in the city. I wonder what stories your grandparents will share after seeing the film you made…
This year we will set out with our “animation band” again to take the Animation Fun Zone operating year-round at the Budaörs Animation Base and Creative Space on the road, and bring the magic of animated filmmaking to fans of cartoons, both big and small.
During the 90 minute sessions, the diverse world of animation provides a base for the development of your creative abilities. You can peek into the secrets of animation, and we will try to figure out together why the postman, the ballerina or the lion don’t get dizzy in the zoetrope. Just as filmmaking, animation is all about teamwork, where everyone has their own job, but you can only create the film if you all work together. Through the shared creative process involving intense concentration, you will naturally start to pay more attention to the details happening on the stop-motion table, and to each other.
Children can learn how to use digital tools creatively, while the instructors and also reintroduce them to the love of traditional materials and techniques. You’ll have the opportunity to try out a variety of techniques, including match, hand drawn, puppet, clay, Lego, and paper-cut animation. The Primanima Animation Fun Zone is a professional studio equipped with modern computers, cameras, lighting, and stop-motion tables, in which your work will be guided by the experienced art educators and animators of Primanima.
The sessions will be led by Tamás Patrovits, Ádám Miklós, Márta Németh, Zsuzsanna Szabó.
Our group activities are free, but registration is needed to attend them.
Each session is 90 minutes long, which allows time for every participant to try all the available techniques.
Capacity: 25 participants per session
