VIKTOR DUDÁS

Viktor Dudás started his professional career in 1997 as a founding editor of the Hungarian edition of MAX magazine, where he worked as acting editor-in-chief from 1999. He joined the team of VOX cinema magazine as a senior editor in 2001, then he was the editor-in-chief, and the product and brand manager of the magazine between 2003 and 2011. From 2004, he was involved in helping Hungarian films enter the international market, which he continued to do working for the Hungarian National Film Fund from 2012. With his contribution, the fruits of state-funded Hungarian filmmaking could officially return to the international commercial film scene after a hiatus of 20 years. From 2013 until the end of 2017, he was a senior advisor at the Commercial and Asset Management Directorate of the Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund, where he was involved in film acquisition and helped the works supported by the Hungarian Media Patronage Programme of the Media Council enter the market. He currently takes part in the selection of television films and documentaries produced by the National Film Institute, and recommends films for domestic and international distribution and festival entry. The radio has almost always been present in his professional career too, as he was a radio host at Danubius Radio, Radio Café and Lánchíd Radio; and he launched his radio talk show CINEmanna on Manna FM in September 2022. He is frequently sought out as a film expert for his knowledge and opinion about films or questions of the film industry. He has been the expert commentator of the Hungarian broadcasting of the Academy Awards ceremony nine times.
