KRZYSZTOF DUCKI

He graduated in applied graphic design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1982. As Polish citizen, after obtaining his degree, he settled down in Hungary, where he continues to live and work to this day. Ducki has won many awards, including the Noémi Ferenczy Award, the Golden Pin Lifetime Achievement Award and the Diaspora Prize. He paints, draws and works as a photographer, and as graphic designer, he creates in nearly all possible formats, including posters, illustration, emblems, books, newspaper or packaging. He considers himself above all, a cultural and political poster designer. His work in the 1980s was synonymous with numerous outstanding films of the period. Since the 1990s, he’s been collaborating with the Polish Institute in Budapest, but he strives to strengthen the cultural connections between the two countries far beyond that. His works could be seen at numerous group and individual exhibitions. In 1987, he was a founding member of the group dubbed DOPP (after his and the other co-artists' initials) and has been a member of the Hungarian Poster Association since 2005 and its president since 2014. He has been a lecturer at the Budapest Metropolitan University since 2010.
