ÉVA M TÓTH
After graduating from the University of Pedagogy in Kaposvár, Éva M Tóth continued her studies at the Hungarian University of Art and Design. In 1992, she obtained degrees in graphic designer and a secondary school teaching, and in 1994, she earned a master’s degree in animation and graphic design. From the 1990s, she worked as an art director at international advertising agencies, and edited and presented art programmes for television. As a director of Pannonia Film Studio and Magyar Rajzfilm Kft., she created animated films and documentaries on art. Her animated films won several awards at national and international film festivals. Her works on animation history include Animare necesse est… (2004), Anirama (2010), History of Animated Motion Picture I–II. (2014). She obtained her DLA degree in 2008 and her habilitation degree in 2015 at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. In 2016, she was appointed as a professor. She is the founding teacher at the University of Kaposvár, Faculty of Art (2000–2017), founder and head of the animation department at Budapest Metropolitan University (2010–2016). From 2017 she is the head of the Motion Picture Culture and Media Studies programme at Eszterházy Károly University, Eger, where she was also appointed head of the institute in 2021.
